Pricing & Plans
Edge takes a fundamentally different approach to cloud pricing. There are no subscription tiers to pick from and no usage calculators to decode. You start free with no card required, and when you run paid resources you pay per resource, by the hour, from a prepaid balance — so a surprise bill is structurally impossible.
The Philosophy
Traditional cloud pricing is designed to be opaque. You need a spreadsheet to estimate your monthly bill, and even then you'll be surprised. Egress fees penalise success — the more users you have, the more you pay to serve them.
Edge rejects this entirely:
- Free to start — sign up with a verified email, no card. DNS and Shield are free forever; CDN and Storage have genuinely useful free tiers.
- Zero egress fees — your data, your bandwidth, no penalty. Ever. In every region.
- Prepaid, not postpaid — compute bills hourly from a balance you load in advance. When it runs out, VMs pause and your data is retained. There is no mechanism for a runaway bill.
- Hard caps by default — exceeding a free tier pauses the resource; it never silently starts billing. Paid usage requires an explicit budget you set.
- Built for agents — AI agents can deploy infrastructure within known cost boundaries, with additional budget caps on agent access codes.
What's Free
| Product | Free allowance | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| DNS | Up to 50 zones, unlimited records, 1M queries/month per zone (soft limit — we warn, never block) | Verified email |
| Shield | Free forever — unlimited widgets and verifications, humanity score, verified agents | Verified email |
| CDN | 3 deployments, 500k requests/month, custom domains with SSL, image optimization | Card on file — never charged |
| Storage | 2 buckets, 5 GB, full S3-compatible API on NVMe | Card on file — never charged |
The card requirement on CDN and Storage exists to keep abuse out — it's an authorization, never a charge. Free tiers are the full product, capped by volume.
Beyond the Free Tiers
CDN and Storage are hard-capped by default: hit the limit and the resource pauses rather than starting a bill. To go past the caps, set a monthly usage budget on the billing page. Overage then bills from your prepaid balance at published rates:
| Resource | Overage rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| CDN requests | $0.25 per million | Beyond 500k/month; egress stays free |
| Storage | $0.015 per GB-month | Beyond 5 GB, prorated hourly |
When the budget is spent, the free-tier caps come back into force until the next month (or until you raise the budget). Spending is bounded by the budget and your prepaid balance — a surprise bill is structurally impossible.
Compute: Pay Per Resource
There are no instance types. Configure exactly the vCPU, RAM, and disk you need and pay three published rates, billed hourly while resources run:
| Resource | Rate | Roughly |
|---|---|---|
| vCPU | $0.004 per hour | ~$2.92/month per core |
| RAM | $0.00256 per GiB-hour | ~$1.87/month per GiB |
| Disk (NVMe) | $0.074 per GiB-month | Billed while allocated, running or stopped |
| Additional IPv4 | $2.00 per month | First public IP included |
| Snapshots & backups | $0.05 per GiB-month | Billed on stored size |
| Bandwidth | Free | Zero egress, every region |
As an example, a 2 vCPU / 4 GiB / 80 GB VM works out to about $19/month — or about $1.27 if you only run it for a weekend, because billing is hourly. A one-time $5 starter credit is available once your card is on file.
Zero Egress Fees
This is worth repeating: Edge charges nothing for data transfer out. CDN bandwidth is included, Storage egress is completely free, and compute transfer is included. The same pricing applies in every region.
For context, traditional cloud providers charge $80–120 per TB for egress. On Edge, that cost is $0.
Built for the Agentic Era
Predictable pricing isn't just about humans. As AI agents increasingly deploy and manage infrastructure, cost predictability becomes critical. An agent deploying a static site at 3am shouldn't generate a surprise bill.
Edge's prepaid model means agents can only ever spend what's in the balance. Combined with agent access code budget caps, teams can give agents the autonomy to deploy while maintaining financial control.
Enterprise Pay-As-You-Go
For organisations running at scale, Enterprise volume pay-as-you-go starts at $499/month and offers per-resource billing with volume discounts 15–25% below AWS, GCP and Azure. Enterprise customers also get:
- Custom resource allocations
- Unlimited seats
- Priority support with <1 hour SLA
- 99.99% uptime SLA
- Dedicated account manager
Add-Ons
Optional add-ons are billed hourly from the same prepaid balance and can be dropped at any time:
- test.network — developer-focused short domains at $1/month each
- ed.ge — premium edge domains at $5/month each
- DNS zone backups — automatic versioned backups at $1/month per zone
